Flyer & Poster Printing for Street League

Printed flyers & posters for Street League, London

Southside Print is pleased to include ‘Street League’ amongst its many customers. We’ll talk in depth about them in a moment but, before that, here’s a little about the kind of thing we print for them (the accompanying images show the examples discussed):

  • A3 posters for a Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair. These were digitally printed on 200gsm silk stock using the customer’s artwork supplied.
  • Digitally printed A5 flyers, which are shown below, to the left. Again, these were from design and artwork supplied by the client and used the same 200gsm stock as the posters above.
  • Turnaround for was less than a day in both cases.

Southside Print is able to print pretty much anything you could ever need in the way of sales and marketing literature. Whether it’s small jobs like business cards, compliments slips, letterheads, booklets, brochures and flyers, or larger jobs like posters, banners, in-store graphics and exhibition displays, Southside Print offers fast, high quality printing and design along with competitive pricing. We have graphic design, digital printing, litho printing and large format printing solutions available, to cover every printing need. Printed flyer for Street League, SE1We are convenient for businesses, shops and organisations in and around SE1, London Bridge and Borough in particular. However, with inexpensive overnight couriers readily available, we are happy to supply anywhere in the UK including, of course, South and Central London, North London and beyond.

About Street League

What’s not to love about Street League! Street League is the leading sport for employment charity in the UK. Working across the United Kingdom and with four bases around London, it helps 16-24 year olds learn key skills to move them into employment, training, apprenticeships or college. This is done through career planning, mentoring, improvement to employability and life skills, help attaining nationally recognised qualifications, CV writing workshops, mock interviews and, last but not least, 100 hours of work experience. Sports, dance and fitness activities are available every day from trained football and dance coaches and there are social activities daily too. What’s more, travel expenses are paid and there is £50 worth of free Nike sportswear for each member! Those involved in the programme benefit from improved confidence and much greater employability. At the end of the 10-12 week programmes, typical opportunities can be found in retail, hospitality, sport administration and more.

Printed flyer for Street League's Jobs Fair event in early October“We believe that school is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and that you can find your own success in many different ways. Sport teaches teamwork, leadership, discipline and competitive spirit – not only beneficial on the pitch or in the dance studio, but also essential for the world of work.”

Street League hosted a free Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair in early October at Corams Fields Band Room in Guilford Street WC1N, London. The event was a great way for young adults to meet employers, learn about apprenticeship opportunities and improve networking skills. They could also take part in free fitness, dance and employability workshops at the event. Click the poster thumbnail for a larger view and for more detail.

Say it loud with a Banner

Printed banners

Printing and production of banners is another natural application of our large format printing service so, for our next post we thought we’d show you a couple of different banners that we recently produced for local client The Dragon Café, in Borough High Street, London SE1 and The Green Street Green Society, which is over in Orpington, Kent.

Roller banner for Green StreetRoller Banners

Roller banners are a great way to present your brand, service, product or message in a near instant. What’s more, they ‘say it loud’ due to their large scale — options start from 850mm wide by approximately 2m high. Roller banners take literally seconds to erect and, after use, seconds to dismantle again, with the display graphics rolling down into a compact cassette that’s easy to transport and store in the supplied storage case, ready to be re-used at any time.

Southside Print London Bridge‘s roller banners are suitable for indoor use and are ideal for use in situations like office presentations, receptions, showrooms, trade fairs, events and shopping malls, to name just a few. Whether you’re using one or several, they’re an excellent way to make a splash with the minimum of time and effort. Many models are even robust enough to be used semi-permanently if required. All our roller banners use robust 400gsm ‘SoFlat’ material, for true lay-flat properties. They also have a matte finish to the front and a grey backing coat to the reverse. This combination helps to present the printed graphics in the best possible way, without any show-through from behind even when backlit. The surface is scuff and scratch resistant and is printed in fade-proof UV-based inks.

We offer various sizes and various different models, from economy grade right through to luxury. We can usually even replace the graphics in the future, should you need such a change. For more details, quotations and artwork specifications, contact us and we’d be delighted to help. We can even provide the design and artwork if you like.

Hanging Banners

Hanging banner for The Dragon Café, London SE1Hanging banners are great when you need to catch the eye of the public and let them know your message, or draw attention to an event, all in an instant. The best thing is that they can be used just about anywhere and are available in just about any size you can think of.

Our outdoor banners are printed on a flame-resistant, light-fast PVC, most commonly using a 440gsm weight/thickness although lots of other options are also available. These include Read more

Printing a Board Game for The Hepatitis C Trust, SE1

Printed board game and cards for The Hepatitis C Trust

Southside Print London Bridge has recently printed an innovative and visually striking educational tool for The Hepatitis C Trust, a registered charity located just up the road at Crosby Row, London SE1. The educational tool comes in the form of a board game, 50cm square, which is printed in full colour in a style similar to Monopoly or Snakes & Ladders. Along with the board itself comes a set of players’ cards that are used to affect progress and outcomes during the ‘game’. However, The Buddy Game is actually way more than a game. Part of a National project, it’s an educational tool that helps to train volunteers to help those who have come into contact with Hepatitis C, in the best possible way. Click the images to see the cards and board in more detail.

The Printing

Printed board game and cards for The Hepatitis C TrustThe board game was printed, using our large format printing facilities, on 190gsm photo paper. It was then gloss laminated. Design and artwork were supplied by the customer and 10 boards were produced for them.

The cards, which are part of the game, were also produced from the customer’s artwork files. They were digitally printed in full colour, both sides, onto 350gsm silk stock, which was then matt laminated to both sides. In total, each of the ten board games was supplied with 10 sets of 6 different cards, making a total of 600 printed cards provided by Southside Print London Bridge.

About The Hepatitis C Trust

The Hepatitis C Trust is a UK charity with offices in both London and Edinburgh. It is run by patients and ex-patients to help those who have been exposed to the disease. The charity’s primary mission is to help eradicate the disease completely and, with better treatments and new drug developments becoming available, this is now a real possibility — the disease could be eradicated perhaps by 2030 or even earlier. Along the way, the Trust also aims to end the discrimination often experienced by sufferers who are too often assumed to have contracted the disease through drug or substance abuse. The reality is that Read more

Design and printing for Art & Motty, London SE1

Litho, digital & large format printing for Art & Motty Litho, Digital and Large Format Printing

Southside Print London Bridge produces design, artwork and many different types of printing for Art & Motty, a local business with an HQ in London SE1 (more about them below). The printing covers all manner of stationery, labels, point of sale displays and more, including:

  • a series of signs in various sizes and some A1 posters. These were printed, quickly and efficiently, on our large format colour printing machine using a 190gsm ‘photo satin’ stock. The signs were then matt encapsulated for additional protection when in use outdoors;
  • double-sided business cards, which were printed in full colour onto 450gsm silk stock with the addition of a ‘soft touch’ lamination to give them additional protection and a lovely feel;
  • letterheads, which were litho printed using specially mixed spot colours and a 120gsm white stock;
  • loyalty cards, which were printed in full colour onto a 300gsm offset stock;
  • various labels, which were printed on white uncoated ‘crack back’ (easy-peel) label stock. These were then used on the actual product packaging.

All design and artwork was generated by Matt Potter, the in-house graphic designer at Southside Print London Bridge. The stationery, sales and marketing collateral was produced via a mixture of digital, litho and large format printing, as appropriate.

About Art & Motty

Art & Motty, founded in 2015 by Peter (‘Art’) Hall and Dermot (‘Motty’) Egan, began as a spin-off from Art’s other business venture, Food Matters. While Food Matters supplies food and event services to corporate and private clients in high profile London venues, Art & Motty’s purpose is to bring delicious, bespoke food products to the street, via market stalls. Within that new, wider audience, Art & Motty has become known, in particular, for their ridiculously delicious chilled range of brownies, ‘Brownie Points’. The unique range was created originally by Motty when working as Head Chef at Food Matters. The brownies use only natural ingredients, have zero additives and no preservatives. They are also available in an increasingly popular gluten-free variant. Here are just a few of the brownie flavours, to whet your appetite:

  • ‘Raspberry & White Chocolate’, which leaves a lovely mellow, bittersweet taste on the tongue.
  • ‘Double Chocolate Chip’ combines luxurious white and milk chocolate chunks with aromatic Madagascan vanilla extract resulting in a ‘sweet, heavenly taste finishing with delicate floral notes’.
  • For nut-lovers like me, Art & Motty provide ‘Pistachio & White Chocolate’ and ‘Macadamia & White Chocolate’ options. Yum!
  • ‘Chilli and Dark Chocolate’ featuring rich dark chocolate infused with a mild dried chilli powder, creating a smooth, velvety warmth on the throat.
  • New seasonal flavours are added to the range all the time and Motty is finalising a version of their ‘Madagascan vanilla-infused sea salted caramel sauce’ and this is now available in sealed glass jars.
  • Motty has been working hard to create the perfect vegan brownie containing delicate flavour combinations of banana and beetroot which have already proven to be a big hit with our customers at Crave Market in Paddington. These are available to purchase from our market stalls or on-line.
  • Check out more flavours on the website and up-coming additions on their blog.

Brochure Printing for Munro & Forster Communications, London SE1

Brochure printing for Munro Forster CommunicationsSouthside Print London Bridge recently printed some lovely brochures for Munro & Forster Communications, who are based a stone’s throw away from the SE1 printer at Bank Chambers, Borough High Street, just 5 minutes from London Bridge station.

The Contemporary Graphics

Both brochures use smart, modern designs that utilise contemporary ‘flat’ graphics and bright colours. As such, they’re easy on the eye, fresh looking and thoroughly engaging, which is a testament to the skill of the graphic designer, considering the subject matter involved.

The Digital Printing

The brochures were each printed in full colour process (‘CMYK’) from design and artwork supplied by the client’s own in-house graphic designer. Southside Print London Bridge utilised its digital presses to print both jobs as these best suited the relatively low quantities involved — just 100 and 300 were required respectively. Both brochures were printed with 200gsm cover stock and 120gsm internal sheets, which were all then trimmed, collated, folded and saddle-stitched into the finished brochure format. Printing production was turned around in just 2 days from start to finish.

Business Cards for The Electoral Reform Society

Printed business cards for the Electoral Reform Society

Southside Print London Bridge recently re-printed business cards for The Electoral Reform Society which is based in the same SE1 London area and is a leading proponent for democratic reform in the UK. The business cards were printed in ‘full colour process’ (also known as ‘CMYK’) and were double-sided using a design and layout supplied by our very own Matt Potter here in the London Bridge branch of Southside Print. The cards used a 450gsm silk coated stock which, after printing, was finished with a matt lamination. This protects the cards as well as giving them a contemporary look and a soft, silky feel.

About the Society

The Society stands firm in their belief that “Politics can be better than it is” and campaigns for a better democracy.

“Our vision is a representative democracy fit for the 21st Century.”

Just a few of the specific issues that the Society aims to improve include:

  • the fact that the House of Lords remains totally unelected, flying in the face of a so-called democracy;
  • reducing the ‘gender gap’ by increasing the low number of women in politics;
  • reducing big money’s influence on politics;
  • making votes match the make-up of seats in Parliament more fairly;
  • making sure that those in power can be held to account by voters;
  • ensuring that every voter can help shape the decisions that will affect their lives.

Founded in 1884, The Electoral Reform Society was then known as the Proportional Representation Society. Its founder was the Victorian naturalist and archaeologist called Sir John Lubbock and its aim was to gather like-minded people together to fight for a fairer vote.  The Society quickly grew in numbers and included C.P. Scott, the editor of what’s now called The Guardian, The Reverend Charles Dodgson, who we all know better as ‘Lewis Carroll’, and Thomas Hare who brought about the Single Transferable Vote.

Litho Printing – When Only the Best Will Do

Litho printing services

At Southside Print in London Bridge, we’re very lucky to have both digital printing and litho printing facilities all in-house. While many London printers only offer the digital printing process, Southside Print customers benefit from all that lithographic printing has to offer — including:

Ultimate quality

Litho printing delivers the ultimate possible quality for the production of sales and marketing literature. Indeed, litho printing is the printing process by which all other commercial printing processes are benchmarked; within the printing trade we often appraise printing generated by digital printing presses to see how close to litho quality it is. While some high-end digital presses come close, none quite reach the ultimate quality which comes as standard when using litho printing presses.

But it doesn’t end there …

Varnishes & sealants

Litho printing presses also allow us to print varnishes which will give your printing an extra lustre or finish. For example matt or, more commonly, silk or gloss varnishes will ‘lift’ the colour depth, while printed machine sealants offer extra protection from fingerprinting. This is particularly important for dark or highly saturated colours which are being printed onto coated paper or board stocks.

Spot colour matching

Our litho printing presses also allow us to print ‘spot colour’ inks which are pre-mixed, highly accurate, Pantone matched liquid inks which are simply impossible to print using digital printing equipment.  Spot colour printing results in exact colour matching, to Pantone standards, meaning that we can print an exact colour match for special colours and important corporate/brand colours which have been specified using Pantone reference numbers. This exact matching is possible without any other reference being required, including any visual reference. For example we know that Pantone 485 is a particular bright red and Pantone 282 is a particular kind of ‘midnight blue’, and so on. Such colour accuracy is not possible using digital printing presses which simply approximate colours using combinations of the 4 standard ‘process’ colours of cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
