Application form printed by Southside Print, London BridgeJust around the corner from Southside Print’s London Bridge branch is the HQ of The Fawcett Society, which has its base in Union Street, SE1. Southside Print has recently produced printing and duplication for the Society including full colour A5 leaflets which were digitally printed onto 330gsm smooth white ‘Advocat’ board, AGM letters which were mail merged with a supplied database then printed/duplicated in black and white and some additional documents which were photocopied for the same event. The whole process was turned around very quickly. Design and artwork was supplied by the Society. About The Fawcett Society

In 1866 two sisters, Elizabeth Garett Anderson and Millicent Garett Fawcett (nee Garett), started their life-long campaign for women to get the vote and equal rights. It took them 60 years to achieve this goal, one which has since shaped women’s rights in so many areas of life, “helping to bring about a society where the gender you are does not limit the life chances you have” to quote their mission statement. The two women were extremely hard-working and knowledgeable and, with help from family and the suffragettes, became a force to be reckoned with.

Elizabeth died in 1917 and Millicent in 1929 but their work and legacy positively impacts society to this day — the Fawcett Society continues the hard work started by the two sisters from their HQ in London SE1 with a dedicated team launching campaigns, providing up-to-date news on all related issues and bringing about support for women in all aspects of life.

Campaigns

The Society’s most recent campaigns have included “Views Not Shoes” which looks into the issue where male leaders’ wives get more media attention than female politicians. As part of this, the Fawcett Society looked at how much media coverage female politicians and candidates got in the build-up to the 2015 Election, the nature of the coverage and how often women were central to the economic stories.

Other campaigns include “Women in the Economy” which addresses the question as to where women’s voices are in important economical matters along with their “Equal Pay Day” campaign which, as the name suggests, addresses the gender pay gap.

You can catch up on all these campaigns and more on their website at www.fawcettsociety.org.uk.  There you will also find latest news and issues together with details of how to support the Society or join one of the many local groups. You can also shop for Christmas gifts there (e.g. some great t-shirts) in their online shop.

Digital Printing for The Academy of Greatness

Digital Printing for The Academy of GreatnessWe would like to thank Darren Eden of The Academy of Greatness for being a regular customer of Southside Print here in London Bridge so thought we’d highlight a little about them, and some of the printing work involved, here on the blog.

Recent printing work

Some of the sales and marketing collateral, or other course support literature, recently produced for The Academy of Greatness includes flyers, brochures, name badges, customer agreement forms, registration forms and other documents for use by course participants.  This literature was printed in-house on our digital presses and some of it can be seen in the image above.

In this particular case, the design and artwork was supplied by the customer although at Southside Print London Bridge we do offer graphic design as an optional service for those who need it.

All items were printed digitally and paper stock used was as follows:

  • The Transformation brochure and the flyer were printed on ‘Colotech Natural White’ paper stock, weight 160gsm;
  • The registration forms were printed on ‘Conqueror High White Wove’, also using a weight of 160gsm
  • A further form for participants was printed onto ‘Navigator’ paper, with a weight of 80gsm;
  • Finally some name badges were digitally printed onto ‘Advocate’ card with a weight of 300gsm.

The Academy of Greatness

Simply put, the goal of The Academy of Greatness is to empower people to actually live the life they’d truly love to live. This is summed up on their website as “Empowering you in your imagination and intuition to live your Greatness“. Founded and run by Darren Eden, the organisation Read more
