Printing for The Art Academy, Borough, London SE1

Digital printing for The Art Academy

Spring Courses PosterThe Art Academy is one of our close neighbours here in the London Bridge/Borough region of London. They sometimes need posters, brochures and flyers printed and, as we’re in the same SE1 area, we are a natural choice for printing of such items. A couple of examples of marketing collateral produced for them can be seen above and details of both the printing and the Academy follow below.

Open Days PosterWe produced the Spring Courses poster (shown right) using The Art Academy’s own design and artwork supplied and printed it as ten A3 posters and fifty A5 flyers. Both were printed in full colour, single-sided, using our digital printing press. This was perfect for the relatively low volumes required and allowed for a speedy turnaround. The stock used was 170gsm ‘Essential Silk’ which started life at a size of SRA2.

We also produced a similar poster, in the same manner, for their Fine Art Foundation open days. This can be seen on the left and utilised exactly the same ‘Essential Silk’ paper as the first example.

Lastly, we also supplied some full colour, 200gsm brochures (not shown), each incorporating a front flap. Due to the low volume and fast turnaround needed those were produced via colour copy/duplication and finished to a folded size of A5.

Digital and large format printing

A1 large format display board

The work produced for Teens & Toddlers included:

  • A 4-page brochure (shown above) which was produced as A3 full colour print-outs that were then creased and folded down to A4. This particular job used 350gsm ‘Essential Gloss’ stock and the design and artwork were supplied by the client;
  • An A1 display panel (shown above right) which was printed on our large format printing press and produced using a 190gsm full colour print mounted to foam board. Again, the design and artwork were supplied by the customer.

Southside Print London Bridge produced both jobs entirely in-house using our digital printing/copying service and large format printing facilities. Click the links to learn more about those printing services.

Digital Printing for Pulse Business Energy

Printing for Pulse Business Energy

Printing produced by Southside Print London Bridge:

Southside Print London Bridge produces printing for Pulse Business Energy (more about them below) and you can see some printed examples in the image above. Work shown includes digital printing for three 8-page, full colour (‘CMYK’) A4 brochures/reports, each focusing on Pulse’s energy purchasing strategy. The finished result is professional, functional and attractive including matt lamination to the outside for a nice silky feel plus the additional protection that the lamination process lends to the documents. Covers were digitally printed onto 350gsm silk coated stock with internal ‘text’ pages being printed on matching 170gsm paper, all from artwork supplied by the customer.

Other work which we regularly produce for Pulse Business Energy includes:

  • Tender reports which are produced digitally in very small quantities (perfect for digital print) which we print using 350gsm silk coated covers, a matt laminated finish to the outside, 250gsm dividers and 170gsm silk coated text pages. These are then usually perfect bound like a soft-back book.
  • A4 leaflets which we print on 170gsm paper from the customer’s artwork;
  • Letterheads which we print onto 120gsm paper stock, again from artwork supplied.
  • Artwork is usually supplied by the client for all items, however with our in-house design and artwork capabilities we are able to amend spine wording and positioning as well as adding customer logos to their tender documents.

Our sincere thanks go to Pulse for all the work to date.

Litho Printing – When Only the Best Will Do

Litho printing services

At Southside Print in London Bridge, we’re very lucky to have both digital printing and litho printing facilities all in-house. While many London printers only offer the digital printing process, Southside Print customers benefit from all that lithographic printing has to offer — including:

Ultimate quality

Litho printing delivers the ultimate possible quality for the production of sales and marketing literature. Indeed, litho printing is the printing process by which all other commercial printing processes are benchmarked; within the printing trade we often appraise printing generated by digital printing presses to see how close to litho quality it is. While some high-end digital presses come close, none quite reach the ultimate quality which comes as standard when using litho printing presses.

But it doesn’t end there …

Varnishes & sealants

Litho printing presses also allow us to print varnishes which will give your printing an extra lustre or finish. For example matt or, more commonly, silk or gloss varnishes will ‘lift’ the colour depth, while printed machine sealants offer extra protection from fingerprinting. This is particularly important for dark or highly saturated colours which are being printed onto coated paper or board stocks.

Spot colour matching

Our litho printing presses also allow us to print ‘spot colour’ inks which are pre-mixed, highly accurate, Pantone matched liquid inks which are simply impossible to print using digital printing equipment.  Spot colour printing results in exact colour matching, to Pantone standards, meaning that we can print an exact colour match for special colours and important corporate/brand colours which have been specified using Pantone reference numbers. This exact matching is possible without any other reference being required, including any visual reference. For example we know that Pantone 485 is a particular bright red and Pantone 282 is a particular kind of ‘midnight blue’, and so on. Such colour accuracy is not possible using digital printing presses which simply approximate colours using combinations of the 4 standard ‘process’ colours of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Litho Printing for ‘28°-50°’ & ‘Texture’ Restaurants

Printing & design for 28°-50° Wine Workshop & KitchenSouthside Print London Bridge has recently been busy producing printing for the 3 branches of 28°-50° Wine Workshop & Kitchen as well as for their sister restaurant Texture. Litho printing was the process which was mostly used and work produced included business cards, leaflets, brochures, branded alcohol and dessert sheets, paper wine mats and even spot-printed greaseproof paper, which is quite a specialist process.

  • The business cards were litho printed both sides in 2 spot colours onto beautifully textured ‘Oyster’ coloured Conqueror Contour 300gsm card. Artwork was supplied by Southside Print London Bridge;
  • The lovely concertina leaflets – which were like mini brochures – were printed in full colour onto a 250gsm silk stock and again artwork was produced by Southside Print;
  • The alcohol and dessert sheets were litho printed on 190gsm Offset stock, printed in two spot colours;
  • Wine sheets were also litho printed in 2 spot colours, this time onto a ‘Papago Steel Grey’ 80gsm paper stock;
  • The greaseproof paper was litho printed in 1 spot colour.

Our sincere thanks go to all the restaurant staff involved and we’re really looking forward to paying a visit in the near future.

Digital Printing for The Academy of Greatness

Digital Printing for The Academy of GreatnessWe would like to thank Darren Eden of The Academy of Greatness for being a regular customer of Southside Print here in London Bridge so thought we’d highlight a little about them, and some of the printing work involved, here on the blog.

Recent printing work

Some of the sales and marketing collateral, or other course support literature, recently produced for The Academy of Greatness includes flyers, brochures, name badges, customer agreement forms, registration forms and other documents for use by course participants.  This literature was printed in-house on our digital presses and some of it can be seen in the image above.

In this particular case, the design and artwork was supplied by the customer although at Southside Print London Bridge we do offer graphic design as an optional service for those who need it.

All items were printed digitally and paper stock used was as follows:

  • The Transformation brochure and the flyer were printed on ‘Colotech Natural White’ paper stock, weight 160gsm;
  • The registration forms were printed on ‘Conqueror High White Wove’, also using a weight of 160gsm
  • A further form for participants was printed onto ‘Navigator’ paper, with a weight of 80gsm;
  • Finally some name badges were digitally printed onto ‘Advocate’ card with a weight of 300gsm.

The Academy of Greatness

Simply put, the goal of The Academy of Greatness is to empower people to actually live the life they’d truly love to live. This is summed up on their website as “Empowering you in your imagination and intuition to live your Greatness“. Founded and run by Darren Eden, the organisation Read more

Litho & Digital Printing for Taxfile

Taxfile-Masthead1Taxfile are a regular customer here at Southside Print London Bridge. We have been their printer for a few years now, so firstly would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to them for all the printing work — we really appreciate it. We also thought we’d highlight a little about their services here on our blog as well as outlining the kind of printing we have produced for them in case any readers have similar print requirements.

A simple job we do for Taxfile from time to time is the printing of their business cards. As you can see in the large image above we produce them for various Taxfile personnel (more than is shown) and the good news is that they are small enough to allow us to print multiple names all at the same time —we ‘gang up’ more than one business card on a single larger sheet so all the names get printed in one pass, then we guillotine the sheets down into individual cards. These are printed double-sided onto 350gsm ivory card by litho process (as there was spot colour involved) and then matt laminated to give them a nice silky finish and to protect them. They are very inexpensive to produce and were also designed and artworked by Southside Print London Bridge.

You can also see some of the A5 leaflets which we printed for them. These are digitally printed in ‘full’ or ‘process’ colour (also known as ‘CMYK’) onto 200gsm silk coated white stock (a thick paper weight). So the result is a decent thickness of paper with a subtle surface finish, each of which gives the leaflets a high quality feel without breaking the bank.

We also print some postcards for Taxfile (not shown). Like the business cards these are litho printed double-sided onto 350gsm white card, again including black plus one spot colour, but this time gloss laminated. These are handed out to customers and prospects who visit Taxfile’s Tulse Hill shop.

Brochure montageLastly, another recent job produced for them was a reprint for some 6-page one-third A4 (a.k.a. ‘DL’) sized brochures. These were digitally printed onto 250gsm silk coated A4 white stock (thin ‘card weight’) then creased and folded down to the final finished size, which fits neatly in a DL envelope should posting be required.

If you need anything similar, simply give us a call — we have digital printing, litho printing, large format printing and creative design services all in-house so can cater for pretty much any design and print specification, quantity and budget. Contact us on 020 7378 6754 or see more contact options here.

RECENT PRINTING FOR BRINDISA

Here is a selection of printed items (price lists, loyalty cards and A6 postcards) which we’ve just produced at Southside Print, London Bridge, for Brindisa. They also  serve  Spanish cooking daily at their four London Tapas restaurants, including a local one at London Bridge.
